Then to make things more difficult and confusing for everyone the turnaround times for the USDOS to apostille or authenticate documents can change without notice.
What that means is when a person or apostille courier agents files a document in person at the USDOS office the federal employee that helps them will tell them in exactly how many days they have to wait before they can come back and pick up the documents.
On the Department of State’s official website they state it will take three business days but over the years from our first hand experience in can take four and even five business days on rare occassions.
The four to five business day turnaround times normally only happens when the USDOS is extremely back logged, around major holidays, or when there is bad weather like hurricanes and snow storms that hit the DC metro area.
In our experience ninety percent of the time the U.S Department of State will have your documents ready for us to pickup in three business days from the day we rush hand file them for you to turnaround documents once they receive your documents from us).
The U.S State Department (USDOS) office is currently taking an estimated 8-10 weeks to process and issue certificates once your documents are filed with them.
It was taking 12-13 weeks time until May 2021 for the U.S State Department to process and issue federal apostilles and federal authentication certificates on documents once they were submitted to their office in Washington, D.C.
Please don’t fall for other online companies that haven’t updated their websites yet that still say it only takes 3-4 weeks time. That time frame was true earlier in this summer for a couple of months but that is no longer the case.
The USDOS processing turnaround time is now the exact same for every single company in the world no matter what company you choose to hire once walk-in service was discontinued almost 2 1/2 years ago after COVID hit.
The U.S Department of States does not give us or anyone updates of any kind so we cannot give you any type of order status updates once you place your order with us (welcome to the completely broken federal government system since COVID).
Only on the day the State Department finally issues a federal apostille certificate or authentication certificate on your documents will they notify us and then we will notify you by email.
Also, be aware that at any time the USDOS could revert back to longer timeframes (8-13 weeks) without notice and during your ongoing document filing process.
This means we can tell you by phone, email, or you can read on this website that the USDOS is currently taking an estimated XYZ time to issue federal apostille and authentication certificates but during the filing process the turnaround time for your documents can be extended out to a much longer time frame.
