How do I get an
apostille in Houston?


 

The short and truthful answer is you can’t.

The only place in the State of Texas (or the country and world for that matter) where you or your company can be issued a Texas apostille certificate on any personal, business, or corporation document that was either notarized by a Texas notary or issued from a Texas governmental agency is at the Texas Secretary of State located in Austin, TX.

When you see companies or random side hustling notaries advertising online for Houston apostille services please understand you can’t travel anywhere in Houston or mail your documents to anywhere in Houston, and be legally issued a Texas apostille certificate.

All you are doing is mailing, dropping off, or having someone come to you to pick up your documents, which is a third-party middleman company that will either outsource the filings of your documents to a person or a company like ours that is physically located in Austin. Then they will same day file your documents at the Secretary of State’s Texas office.

Or worse, these shady middlemen simply mail your documents off to the Texas Secretary of State office and then tell you it will take several weeks, or even months, to procure your certifications as they absurdly overcharge you for so-called “expedited apostille services.”
